Our Service
MR VAN Removals and Clearance provides customers with a 240 litre wheelie bin for additional everyday household general waste.
Collections are normally made fortnightly on the customer’s allocated collection round. Collection dates may occasionally change due to bank holidays, severe weather, vehicle breakdowns or other circumstances outside our reasonable control. Where practical, customers will be informed of any changes.
Price and Payment
The service costs £32.50 per calendar month, payable monthly in advance. The advertised price of £7.50 per week is the weekly equivalent of the £32.50 monthly charge.
For the time being, payments are made manually and customers will normally receive a reminder before their next payment becomes due. Payment must be received by the stated due date. If payment has not been received, we may suspend collections until the account has been brought up to date.
Your Wheelie Bin
The wheelie bin supplied to the customer remains the property of MR VAN Removals and Clearance at all times.
The bin is supplied for use at the registered service address and must not be sold, transferred to another person, permanently altered or used at another address without our permission. Customers are expected to take reasonable care of the bin.
Lost, Stolen or Damaged Bins
Normal wear and tear will not be charged for.
If a bin is lost or damaged beyond reasonable use because of misuse, negligence or deliberate damage, the customer may be charged the reasonable cost of repair or replacement.
A customer will not automatically be charged simply because a bin has been stolen. We will consider the circumstances. Customers should notify us as soon as possible if a bin is lost, stolen or damaged.
Maximum Weight
The maximum permitted weight is 25 kg per bin, per collection.
Bins that are excessively heavy or believed to exceed the 25 kg limit may be refused. If collection is refused because the bin is overweight, the customer will be asked to remove sufficient waste before their next scheduled collection.
Bin Lid Must Be Fully Closed
The bin lid must be fully closed on collection day. Waste must not protrude above the top of the bin or prevent the lid from closing completely.
Overfilled bins may be refused and a refund will not normally be provided where collection could not take place because the customer did not comply with this requirement.
Extra Bags and Additional Waste
The standard monthly service covers the contents of the supplied 240 litre bin only. Bags or other waste left beside, behind or on top of the bin are not included.
Additional waste may be collected by prior arrangement and may incur an additional charge.
What Can Go in the Bin
The service is intended for ordinary everyday household general waste. Waste should be securely bagged wherever appropriate.
Customers must follow any waste guidance provided by MR VAN Removals and Clearance. We may update the list of accepted materials where necessary to comply with disposal site requirements or changes in waste regulations.
Prohibited Waste
Unless specifically agreed with us in advance, customers must not place the following in the bin:
- Soil, rubble, bricks, concrete or other building waste
- Plasterboard
- Paint, chemicals or liquids
- Batteries
- Gas bottles or cylinders
- Asbestos
- Hazardous waste
- Hot ashes or burning materials
- Electrical items
- Upholstery, fabric or material waste, or other waste that requires separate handling
- Any waste that we or our authorised disposal facility cannot legally or safely accept as general household waste
If prohibited material is found, we may refuse to empty the bin. Repeated or serious misuse may result in the service being suspended or cancelled.
Collection Day
Customers must ensure their bin is available and accessible at the agreed collection point on collection day. Access must not be prevented by locked gates, parked vehicles or other obstructions.
If we attend but cannot access the bin, this may be treated as a missed collection by the customer. We are not required to make a separate return journey and the bin may instead be emptied on the next scheduled collection. A separate return visit may be available by arrangement and may incur an additional charge.
If MR VAN Misses Your Collection
If we fail to make a scheduled collection for a reason within our control, we will arrange another collection as soon as reasonably practical at no additional charge.
Where collections are disrupted by circumstances outside our reasonable control, we will make reasonable efforts to keep customers informed and resume the service as soon as practical.
Cancellation
The service operates on a monthly rolling basis. Customers may cancel by contacting MR VAN Removals and Clearance. Unless statutory cancellation rights provide otherwise, we ask customers to provide one calendar month’s notice.
At the end of the service, the MR VAN Removals and Clearance wheelie bin must be made available for us to collect.
Where a consumer signs up online, by telephone, social media or otherwise at a distance, applicable statutory cancellation rights, including any applicable 14 day cooling off period, are unaffected by these terms.
Where a customer specifically asks us to begin providing the service during a statutory cancellation period, the applicable consumer law rules will apply.
Moving Home
Customers must tell us if they are moving home. The bin must not simply be taken to the new property without our agreement. We will confirm whether the service can continue at the new address.
Waste Disposal
MR VAN Removals and Clearance is a registered waste carrier. Waste collected through the service will be transported and transferred to appropriately authorised waste facilities in accordance with applicable waste legislation and our duty of care obligations.
Customers must not use the service to dispose of waste unlawfully.
Changes to Prices or the Service
We may occasionally need to change our prices, collection arrangements or these terms. Where a change materially affects the customer, we will provide reasonable advance notice before the change takes effect.
Customers who do not wish to continue following a material change may contact us to cancel their service, subject to their statutory rights.
Responsibility and Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited or excluded, including the customer’s statutory consumer rights.
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We will not be responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, except where the law provides otherwise.
Personal Information
We may hold customer information such as their name, service address, telephone number, email address, payment status and collection information for the purpose of administering the service.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection law and our privacy information.

If there is ever a problem with your service, please contact us and we will aim to resolve it fairly and promptly.
